A wedding is a party not a performance.

During the excitement (and stress) of planning a wedding it’s easy to lose sight of the reason behind all the flowers, decorations, music, food and booze – we’re actually getting married! At the end of this elaborate day, I will have married the man I love.

Something that reminded me of this recently was the ‘questionnaire’ that our celebrant, the lovely¬†Amy Edwards, asked us to fill in about each other. It asked lots of questions about your partner, what you love about them and why you are marrying them. When I started to fill in the questionnaire I wrote, and wrote, and wrote – I had so much to say about the amazing man I am going to spend the rest of my life with. Then I thought, ‘does he even know all the little things that I love about him?’ So for the past 71 days I have been sending him a text message every day telling him each and every thing I love so much about him. I’m going to do this every day until our special day arrives and I hope that he understands just how much he means to me.
